ITINERARY

Day 1—September 29

Depart Toronto
Today we depart Toronto for our overnight flight to Rome.

Day 2—September 30

Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy
Once the center of the Ancient World, Rome is still a cultural mecca. Only a few cities in the world can boast such a well-preserved level of architecture, art, and religious iconography. Visit the ancient halls of the 50,000-seat Colosseum, gaze upon the ceilings of the Sistine Chapel, and stroll the Capitoline Museum. Today, we board the beautiful Celebrity Edge. (L/D)

Day 3—October 1

Catania, Sicily, Italy
Located on the east coast, Sicily, Catania is situated at the foot of the largest volcano in Europe, Mount Etna. Elegant, modern, and an important hub in Europe’s tech industry, Catania is also rich with baroque architecture, medieval castles, Roman era theatres, and a flourishing cultural and artistic center. Day 4—October 2

At Sea
Today, cruise in style—the Celebrity Edge is a new ship so be sure to check out all of its ammenities. (B/L/D)

Day 5—October 3

Santorini, Greece
On the island of Santorini, you’ll find a classic Greek seascape—whitewashed houses accented by sea-blue roofs. This is a treasure trove for both professional and amateur archeology buffs, with sites that include tombs that date back to the 9th century. (B/L/D)

Day 6—October 4

Athens (Piraeus), Greece
Once home to the world’s most powerful and civilized empires, Athens is now the world’s foremost archaeological playground. In addition to an abundance of historical riches, modern Athens has plenty to offer—from scenic beaches to bustling central markets. (B/L/D)

Day 7—October 5

Mykonos, Greece
Mykonos is known for its whitewashed villages sprinkled with blue and jade green. As the most popular island in the Cyclades, it’s bustling with activity, awash in beautiful alleyways, and home to alluring sandy beaches. (B/L/D)

Day 8—October 6

Nauplion, Greece
A seaport town located on the hillside near the north end of the Argolic Gulf, Nauplion is considered to be one of the most romantic cities in Greece. (B/L/D)

Day 9—October 7

Katakolon, Greece
This Grecian port city is the gateway to one of the most important archeological sites in the world, the ruins of ancient Olympia. As the birthplace of the Olympics, the great stadium still echoes the cheering of the first superstars of sport. Take a scenic drive through the small Greek villages on the way to Kouroutas Beach and spend three hours relaxing under the sun, swimming, and soaking up a perfect Greek beach day. (B/L/D)

Day 10—October 8

Valletta, Malta
From the glittering baroque interior of the Co-Cathedral of St. John to the charm found wandering the old cobbled avenues, it’s no wonder Valletta, Malta has earned World Heritage status. Experience two Maltese treasures: The Blue Grotto and Marsaxlokk village. Or, set off on a Maltese sightseeing adventure beginning at Valleta's Upper Barrakka Gardens. (B/L/D)

Day 11—October 9

At Sea
Enjoy another day at sea aboard the Celebrity Edge. (B/L/D)

Day 12—October 10

Naples, Italy
Naples is chock full of historical sites, churches, and museums that make it an incredible place for you to explore. And in the region where pizza was first invented, you know the food is going to be incredible. (B/L/D)

Day 13—October 11

Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy
Today marks the end of the cruise portion aboard the Celebrity Edge. (B) The journey doesn't have to end here, opt for the two night Rome extension (+$1450): From the port we will transfer to our hotel before a 3-hour panoramic city tour of Rome. Lunch will be at a local restaurant before heading back to the hotel. (L/D)

Day 14—October 12

Rome Extension
Breakfast this morning will be at the hotel before meeting our guide for a full day excursion. This morning includes a visit to Rome's city centre with vies of the Colisseum and the Roman Forum. Lunch will be at a local restaurant before our visit to the Vatican's Museum—one of the most important art collections in the world. Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant. Entrance tickets to Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, Colosseum, & Roman Forum are included. (B/L/D)

Day 15—October 13

Rome Extension
Today we transfer to the airport for our flight home. (B)
